Oh, the woe, of the echo!
As sound is generated, it travels the path of least resistance - a straight line, which is why, when listening to someone speak, you will hear their voice as it is produced directly from their mouth, only afterwards will you hear the sound as it reflects off the hard surface behind you. These sound reflections, otherwise known as echos, help with our perception of the world we live in, it helps our minds calculate the size of the room we are in.
However, echo can also be a big distraction, whether at your favorite restaurant in conversation with your date, listening to music in your basement man-cave, giving a speech in a synagogue lecture hall, leading a presentation for a new client in the conference room, on the phone in the call-center, or in your full on home-theater.
With excessive echo and reverb, people will be shouting over each other just to be heard, creating more sound and more echo, it's a nasty chain effect. The music you are listening to, or the movie you are watching will not be as pleasant to the ears as expected, and as intended by their respective producers.
With proper sound treatment we can significantly diminish the ill-effects of an acoustically bad room, our techs at Elyon Systems Inc. can do a site survey to determine the needs of your particular location. We can install custom sizes, custom colors and fabric finishes, we can even print art of your choice to give the 'picture frame/painting look in the room. Put a nice size picture of the kids in family room, no one will have to know that it is really there to absorb sound for when they are watching TV. With our many sizes and designs we can custom tailor a solution that has the aesthetics of the room in mind, it can treat the rooms acoustics and look at the same time.
