Our love for music runs for millennia, it soothes the heart, it helps us rejoice during happy occasions, or it can put us in a sad mood if it's a somber tune. We all have our favorite band, our favorite singer, and we all have that memory of a great concert we attended that will last us forever.
But have you ever been to a concert of your favorite singer, your idol, the suspense and anticipation has built up for weeks, the excitement can be felt in the air long before the crowd even reaches the doors of the concert hall, and finally, the long awaited moment when the singer steps up onto the stage grabs the mike and begins to roll out his signature opener, but, no, that can't be, is he getting old? Has she caught a cold? The band is terrible!!
The truth is, most of the time it's not bad vocal cords or a bad musician, and although the band may be playing a soft melody at the wedding at low volume suitable for dinner, the sound may be so loud and offending that everyone and everything sounds terrible. The truth is, most of the time it's the acoustics of the room that's the offender, there's a limit to how much the sound engineer can do to help, but ultimately if the builders of the hall did not take acoustics into account there will be terrible acoustics.
The good news is, it is usually rectifiable, and sometimes for relatively inexpensive. The reason some wedding halls have failed to fix the issue is that they (or their clientele) may value appearance before acoustics and don't want to compromise on this. The better news is, they don't have to. With today's technology, many of the tricks up an acoustical engineer's sleeve can either blend in or actually enhance the look of the venue. there, everybody wins!
At Elyon Systems we specialize in acoustics, whether it's for a conference room, basement man cave, or a wedding hall, our engineers can tackle the issue, we will work together with the contractor and interior designer to specify a fix while also enhancing the look.
